Dear John, I learned of Sharon’s passing just yesterday and I am sadden by the news. Living next door to you & Sharon so long ago in Lamesa was such a blessing, and I will always remember the help and the kindness you two extended to us. You and your sons and families have my sympathy.

Dear John and Family,
I just received the Lynn County News and found out about your loss. It brought back so many memories—playing in the sandbox with Sharon when we were both with our grandparents and they lived next door. We had such fun together. And then, before you knew each other, I remember playing with you before we were school aged. Your mom was our babysitter on Thursdays while my dad played golf and my mom worked at the drug store. We had great times later in MYF, growing in faith with wonderful sponsors.
John, May God’s Peace fill your heart during this time of Sharon’s promotion into heaven.
Love you, dear friend,
Jan Collier Oldham

John, I just learned of Sharon's passing right before I flew to New York to visit my first grandson, 4 months old. Your family has had a beautiful service for her, a loving sending forth, and I know you are trying to adjust to your days without her bright presence. Reading her obituary filled me with pride!--our remarkable Sharon. How glad I am that I "gave permission and my blessing" for you two to be married! You both were so dear to ask for my blessing. I so loved her. She had that radiant smile as a young woman and as the years graced her, she still had that radiant smile! I will pray for the easing of your sense of loss and for the comfort of your family. Love always, dear friend of the Hegi clan! Marla Bray
