Barbara "Bobbie" Carr

November 21, 1935 - October 23, 2018

Funeral services for Barbara "Bobbie" Carr, 82, of Lamesa will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Medley officiating. Interment will follow in Dawson County Cemetery under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday, October 26, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home. Bobbie passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Covenant Hospital on her journey to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She accepted Jesus as her Savior as a young girl. Since then she has been an active member in three churches. First at Bryan Street Baptist, then about 40 years at Friendship Baptist and lastly, at First Baptist Church of Lamesa for the past 26 years. She was a very faithful choir member. Bobbie was born at Loraine, Texas November 21, 1935 to Homan and Jesse (Brown) Lee. She married Raymond Carr April 21, 1953 in Lamesa, while he served in the Army. They were married 65 years. She taught ceramic classes at First Baptist Church and then opened a ceramic shop. Finally, because of health reasons she obtained her cosmetology license and opened her own Specialty Shop where she did reflexology, manicures and pedicures. Through this journey she has met many special friends and most important our Savior, Jesus Christ. Her hobbies included her grandchildren's sporting events, sewing and shopping with her daughters. She also loved country gospel, concerts, visiting Branson, Missouri with friends, and playing dominoes with family and friends. She loved her cat "Stinky". Bobbie was a special Christian, hardworking wife, mother and grandmother. Bobbie is survived by her husband, Raymond Carr of Lamesa; children Brenda Owens and husband, Tony of Lubbock, Rex Carr of Levelland, and Carrla Carr Long and husband, Jimmie of Big Spring; grandchildren, Christian Owens and wife, Jodi, Courtney Samsel and husband, Bryce, Britney Pinkerton, Kaci Kennann and Chase Pinkerton and wife, Lindsey; great-grandchildren, Cade Owens, Layton Owens, Ayan Kennann, Creighan Samsel, Bryar Samsel and Leah Pinkerton; and sister, Nelda Purser of Spring, Texas. Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Mary Barrett, Betty Ivy, Elda Fae Lee and Curtis Lee.
