Shirley Mae Arthur, 80 of Lamesa, TX - beloved Daughter, Sister, Mother, Aunt, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother was called to her savior Jesus Christ's arms and her eternal resting place on August 31, 2018 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Trisha and Kevin Noble in Frisco, TX. She entered this world on April 10, 1938 in Lamesa, TX. She was born to Herman and Anna Mae Freeman. She is survived by her brother J.C. Freeman of Lamesa, TX; sister Carol Ann and husband, Michael Polusky of Goodyear, Arizona; daughters, Dia Robinett of Midland, TX, Trisha Noble and husband , Kevin Noble of Frisco, TX; and step-daughter Frances O'Neal of Midland, TX. Grandchildren - Jessica, Morgan, Mackenzie and Shannon.
Preceding her in death are her parents Herman and Anna Mae Freeman and husband - Judge Charles Arthur of Lamesa, TX.
We will all remember Shirley fondly as "Granny". Her passions in life were her children and her grand-children. Granny was an accomplished artist with a vast library of oil and watercolor works - she painted beautifully...landscapes, flowers, western scenes and her grand-children. Her work has been exhibited at art shows in Texas and Mississippi. Granny loved to spend time in her garden with her flowers and was a fantastic cook with southern favorites like fried chicken and mashed potatoes always on the menu. She was a stylish lady with tons of class and loved to shop for fun clothes and shoes. While these things were important to her, Granny's true passion was spending time with friends and family as well as spoiling her grand-kids.
Our fondest memories of Granny include so many sweet times at the holidays and a wonderful family trip to Disney World that she was so happy to provide for us.
The family suggests memorials to American Cancer Society or Reliant at Home Hospice -1101 Raintree Circle #130, Allen, TX 75013 or Granny's final days were gracefully attended to by the wonderful team from Reliant Care in Allen, TX. Thank you!
