They were married 23 years. Sefo worked at Ortiz Construction. He was a hardworker and impressively never complained about having to go to work a single day. He was a whiz at math which came in handy for all of the measuring he did while working. He had the best sense of humor and was always joking around. He was a true character and always spoke his mind. There was never a dull or quiet moment around him as he never met a stranger. He enjoyed playing the lottery, dancing and music, watching wrestling, HGTV, and old Westerns. He loved his family, his dog, Cheeto, and friends fiercely and unconditionally. Sefo is survived by his wife, Sylvia Ortiz of Lamesa; children, Terry Ortiz of Lamesa, Elise Ponce and husband, Nick of Rhome, Gregg Guajardo and wife, Francis of Lamesa, Seferino Ortiz Jr. "Pogo" and wife, Becky of Lamesa, Stephanie Ortiz of Lamesa, and Diana Ortiz of McAllen; brothers, Guadalupe Ortiz and wife, Tillie, and Oscar Ortiz and wife, Estella all of Lamesa; 19 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Maclovio Ortiz, Ruben Ortiz, Abundio Ortiz, and Samuel Ortiz; sister, Teresa Lopez; and mother-in-law, Eudelia Gonzalez. The family suggests memorials to The Gideons, or Lamesa Christian Fellowship Building Fund. To send condolences online, please visit www.branonfuneralhome.com.
