Jeannene Bryant

May 28, 1939 - October 31, 2018

Jeannene Pieper Bryant, age 79, died from complications related to cancer on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Beehive Homes in Lamesa, Texas.

Jeannene was born on May 28, 1939 in Roswell, New Mexico to Ellzy and Bertie Pieper. Moving to Lamesa at the age of 4, she attended Lamesa schools, graduating from Lamesa High School in 1957 and then attending Texas Tech University. While attending college, she met, dated, fell in love with, and then married Don Bryant on December 19, 1959. During their 52+ years of marriage, they firmly planted their lives together in Lamesa, involving themselves in church, school, and community activities.

Jeannene loved serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As a young woman, she professed Jesus as her Savior and was baptized into membership of The First Baptist Church of Lamesa. Throughout her life, she was a member of FBC Lamesa, where she served on various committees, taught Sunday School and VBS, and enjoyed worshipping the Lord with her many friends across the years.

Jeannene also loved living and working in Lamesa and the surrounding areas. After Don's short stint in the Air Force after college in California, she and Don returned to Lamesa, firmly planting their lives here. Over the years, Jeannene worked within the school system, then at Lamesa Federal Savings & Loan, at Petroplex Savings in Midland, and then for 27 years as the owner of Margie's Flowers and Gifts before selling the business in early 2017. It was in this business where she found great joy in serving so many friends across the years while also finding a purpose in helping people in life's many events and activities. In addition to her florist role here, Jeannene also served in various positions, including both President and Board member of the West Texas / New Mexico Florist Association over the past two decades.

Jeannene also deeply loved her family and supported them throughout their many activities. She is survived by her 3 children and their families, Kreg and his wife Tami of Southlake, Keith and his wife Tanya of Lubbock, and Piper and her husband Mark Madison of Plano. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kirk of Waco, Holden and his wife Shea of Dallas, Haden and his wife Callie of Springdale, Arkansas, Tanner and his wife Brittany of Houston, Kayli of Gainesville, Florida, and Carter and Samantha of Plano.

Jeannene was preceded in death by her husband Don, her parents and her parents-in-law, Orville and Marguarette Bryant

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 6 at The First Baptist Church of Lamesa with her son Kreg officiating and being assisted by Pastor Jim Medley. Visitation will take place at Branon Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 5. Arrangements are being handled by Branon Funeral Home.
