Darrell Eugene Smith

September 2, 1930 - May 14, 2019

Entombment services for Darrell Eugene Smith, 88, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Colleyville/Fort Worth, Texas will be held Friday, May 31, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Dawson County Cemetery with Richard Sealy (Stepson) officiating. Viewing will be Thursday, May 30 at Branon Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Darrell passed away May 14, 2019 in Oklahoma City. He was born September 2, 1930 to Eugene Virgil and Leta Mae (Teeter) Smith in Bridgeport, Texas. He was an Aeronautical Engineer, a graduate of Oklahoma State University. He helped design many U.S. Military Aircraft during his career. He was a Master Mason, Worshipful Master, and District Deputy Grand Master, a Charter and Council Member, York Rite, Past Commander of the Knights Templar, and 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. Darrell was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving throughout the Korean War in Military Intelligence. His life companion and wife of 40 years, Dee Sealy Smith of Lamesa was at his side throughout all his wondrous accomplishments. His grandchildren and great grandchildren, Peter S. Sealy, his children, Jared and Ryan and Carolyn Sealy Horn and her children Jade and Samantha, (Sami), Brian, Amy, her children, Malachi and MacKenzie, have been a great joy to him during the past years. His son and granddaughter were by his side throughout the final trial and passing. We love and miss him beyond expression. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dee Sealy Smith October 12, 2013; parents and younger sister. The family suggests memorials to Legends at Jefferson's Gardens, Mercy Hospice Service, and ST. Ann's Nursing Home all of Oklahoma City.
